Zonda C12

A new car-legend started life in 1999 at the Geneva motorshow. It is called the Pagani Zonda, named after a Argentinian wind which blows hot air through the andes.

The man behind this new supercar is Horacio Pagani, who worked on his life-project since 1992 to create his dream off the childhood. Main prototyp tests were done 1998 and the presentation 1999 was well prepared with a production-ready supercar available to be delivered immediately.

The design was inspirated by the old LeMans Group C racers where the driver sits before a massive engine, at the Zonda a 6,0l V12 officially supported by Mercedes.

On the rear was the spoiler in one piece, generating enough down-force with a adjustable spoiler-lip. All cars were equipped with a 5-speed gearbox supplied by ZF and later on updated for free to a self-engineered 6-speed gearbox.

Production started in 1999 and the last of the five completed C12 was delivered 2000 to a british costumer.

Every Zonda can be equipped with bodyparts from later models, a bigger engine and improved suspension-parts.
